Jennifer Scheible, RN, CHPN, was named Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse of the Year by the National Board of Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurses.
2011 Awards
Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Arkansas
Michael Aureli, founding President and CEO, was posthumously awarded the Hospice Heart Award as a Hospice Champion from the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Arkansas. Also, Nenita Schell of Arkansas Hospice Rusellville received the CNA Hospice Heart Award from the association.

The Media Department of Arkansas Hospice won the Diamond Award for its work on the African Hospice Partnership packet. It also won an award of Excellence for the Arkansas Hospice Foundation Case Statement, a Judge's Merit award for the Corporate Partnership Packet and a Judge's Merit award for the Annual Fund Appeal.

The Media Department of Arkansas Hospice won the Diamond Award for its work on River Cities Restaurant week collatoral.
American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Dr. Martin Koehn, Dr. Neal Wyatt and Dr. A. Reed Thompson all achieved the status of diplomats in the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Arkansas State Hospice and Palliative Care Association
Arkansas Hospice Social Worker Carly Claud was awarded the prestegious Hospice Heart award by the Arkansas State Hospice and Palliative Care Association. The award is given to those who go above and beyond the call of duty, thereby enhancing the quality of life for hospice patients and families.
Dr. Neal Wyatt has been selected to serve as a member of Palmetto GBA's Hospice Intermediary Advisory Committee for 2009-2011. Dr. Wyatt is one of only 11 members chosen from nine states.

2008 Diamond Award, Award of Excellence and Judge's Merit Award
The Media Department of Arkansas Hospice (along with help from Jan Walker) won the Arkansas Hospital Association’s Diamond Award for the 2008 Giving Calendar! The Diamond Awards honor excellence in hospital marketing and public relations and are presented in several categories such as advertising, annual report, Web site, publications, special video production and writing. Entries are evaluated by a panel of judges not affiliated with any Arkansas hospital.
This year, the Media Department also received the Certificate of Excellence and Judge’s Merit awards for the Arkansas Hospice Foundation Donor Report and BIG Event invitations.

Arkansas Hospice CNA Sharon Edwards was named Arkansan of the Week by Channel 4 in Little Rock. Read about it in the Spring 2008 newsletter.

Judith Wooten, our Chief Operating Officer, was made a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). The American College of Healthcare Executives is a “professional society dedicated to promoting the highest standards of professional, educational and leadership performance; the highest ethical standards and conduct; and the advancement of healthcare management excellence”.

Third Place Winner in the Photography category for "The Comforter." This photo was taken by Candace Millwood, Communications & Media Director for Arkansas Hospice, on a Spa Day with a grandmother (the patient) and her granddaughter.

Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame
Dr. Virginia Vollmer, nominated by Arkansas Hospice, inducted Fall of 2005
Dr. Vollmer has been chosen as one of three inductees, out of 18 nominees, for induction into the Senior Arkansan Hall of Fame. Nominees and inductees were honored on October 12th during the Awards Luncheon at the Annual Aging Conference in Hot Springs.

There were 162 entries in the overall program, and the Diamond Awards were presented October 20th during Arkansas Hospital Association’s 75th Annual Meeting and Trade Show at the Little Rock Peabody Hotel.

Winner – M. Catherine Ray Award
Arkansas Hospice Volunteer Program Wins National Award (8/25/04)
Arkansas Hospice Angels named the 2004 recipient of the M. Catherine Ray Award from the National Hospice Organization for outstanding contributions to the hospice community through volunteerism. The award was presented to the Angels at National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Management and Leadership Conference on Oct. 1 in Washington, D.C. This prestigious award is given to outstanding hospice volunteer groups in the memory of M. Catherine Ray, a hospice volunteer, educator and author who specialized in caring for the dying and for hospice volunteers and staff.
Third Place – Photo Contest
Arkansas Hospice's "Angels Among Us" photograph won third place in NHPCO’s national photo contest. The photo was taken by Dorothy Seals, Arkansas Hospice Media Marketing Specialist, in July 2004 when she accompanied the first Angels session at our Little Rock Inpatient Center.

Best of Business Arkansas Business Readers’ Poll
Arkansas Hospice Foundation named Best Charitable Foundation by Arkansas Business for 2004 in the December 13 edition of Arkansas Business “Best of Businesses.” Awards were given to businesses in 50 different categories. The winners were selected based on community voting over a three-month period.

Semi-Finalist - Arkansas Business Non-Profit Organization of the Year 2002
Community esteem for Arkansas Hospice continued to grow in appreciation of the quality care provided to each of the 1031 patients served by Arkansas Hospice throughout the year. The hospice centers, especially, are appreciated for the unique service they bring to the state. The prestige of the program grew significantly at the end of February with the organization being selected as one of the top five non-profit organizations in Arkansas for 2002 and its Director being named as non-profit executive of that year. The resulting Goodwill toward our organization permeated the community.
NHPCO State Issues Sub-Committee
Michael Aureli, CEO of Arkansas Hospice, accepted an invitation from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization to sit on its State Issues Sub-Committee.
