Volunteer Chaplains

Volunteer chaplains bring
help and hope
to the dying and the bereaved.

Volunteer chaplains provide a wonderful service for their "adopted" patients and families.

They help patients and their families learn how to walk with a loved one toward death. They minister in loving, caring ways to help people accept the reality that death often comes sooner than wanted and yet, in spite of the reality of pain, there is hope.

Patients who prefer sanctioned members of their religious group often look to volunteer chaplains to provide the specialized services they want as death draws near.  These special members of our hospice family graciously assist staff chaplains in offering tender, loving care.

Volunteer chaplains, along with ministers from local churches and other religious based community programs, have become an integral part of the religious and spiritual support provided for Arkansas Hospice patients and families.

Members of the clergy who are interested in learning more about our volunteer chaplain ministries please contact Bill Keesling, Chaplain Coordinator for Arkansas Hospice at 501-748-3333.
