Michael Aureli is the founding President and CEO of Arkansas Hospice. His vision is for Arkansas Hospice to tenderly embrace the dying with deeply compassionate and medically-intensive care. Under his leadership, Arkansas Hospice achieved its current status as the premier end-of-life care program in Arkansas.
The Arkansas Business Publishing Group honored him as the state's Non-Profit Organization Executive Director of the Year in 2004 for his work in developing Arkansas Hospice.
Michael led Arkansas Hospice to open and operate Arkansas' first inpatient hospice centers. He also orchestrated the opening of the strongest home-based hospice services in the state. The hospice care program in the home has grown to provide services to patients in more than 24 counties throughout central Arkansas.
Michael has a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Divinity. He was the first hospice director in Arkansas to complete training as a Hospice Administrator through the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). He currently serves on the State Issues Sub-Committee of NHPCO. He also serves as President of the Arkansas State Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
