NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Hospice, the state’s largest non-profit provider of hospice care, has been named a 2025 recipient of the Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite and Hospice Honors awards. This prestigious annual program shines a spotlight on high-performing hospice agencies that continuously deliver quality care as measured by patient and caregiver experiences.
The awards are based on satisfaction scores from the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys, which are given to caregivers of hospice patients, and exclusively recognize hospice agencies that have chosen to work with MatrixCare, a software company specializing in the post-acute care industry, to administer their hospice surveys.
Arkansas Hospice has been recognized with Hospice Honors awards each year since 2013. This year, Arkansas Hospice is one of only two providers in the state to receive Hospice Honors Elite Awards, which recognize the top-performing hospices among those that have selected MatrixCare as their hospice survey partner, and one of three hospices in the state to receive Hospice Honors Awards.
Serving 44 counties across the state, Arkansas Hospice is a not-for-profit organization caring for hundreds of seriously ill patients each day in homes, nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities and Arkansas Hospice inpatient or contracted facilities. The Hospice Honors Elite Award recognizes care provided by Arkansas Hospice’s Russellville and Berryville locations, and the Hospice Honors Award recognizes care provided by the organization’s Batesville office.
Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of January 2024 through December 2024. Eligibility requirements included having at least one complete survey returned in each of the four quarters of the evaluation period. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures.
Hospice CAHPS Honors was awarded to hospices that scored above the MatrixCare National Score on at least 20 of the evaluated questions. The Hospice Honors Elite Awards honor hospices scoring above the MatrixCare National Performance Score on one hundred percent, or all twenty-four, of the evaluated questions.
