Love Languages

February 5, 2020

“All you need is Love…Love is all you need…”

“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.”

                                                                                                                                                               ~ Buddha

We’ve all heard the saying, “Love yourself before you can love others.” Is there any truth to this? We believe so. Self-Love – otherwise known as “love for oneself” – is something we often overlook. During this month of love, let’s first not forget to focus on ourselves (it’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes). Self-love is a journey… something that takes a little time and a little focus, but the rewards can be exponential.

What are some ways that you practice self-love? Check out this article that uses “The 5 Love Languages” method by Gary Chapman to focus on loving ourselves!

And speaking of The 5 Love Languages…. Are you familiar with this concept? Author Gary Chapman’s book covers 5 ways to better connect and understand your partner (and your kids). According to Chapman, relationships grow better and stronger when we understand each other. Learning each other’s “love language” may be just the way to do that!

The 5 Love Languages are:

  1. Words of Affirmation
  2. Quality Time
  3. Receiving Gifts
  4. Acts of Service
  5. Physical Touch

Do you know yours? Do you know your partners?

Take this quiz to learn yours …and your partners… love language.

**BONUS** – The Employee Wellness Council has secured three of copies of the book, “The 5 Love Languages” by Gary Chapman.  Want a copy for yourself?  It’s easy – simply reply to this email by Feb. 13, and tell us…
