At the heart of Arkansas Hospice is our commitment to improve the quality of life for patients by providing care for them in comfortable settings. While most patients receive care in their home, nursing home or assisted living facility, there may be times when respite care by hospice professionals around the clock is needed for stabilization and to provide relief for usual caregivers.
Patients who need evaluation and treatment for pain, nausea or other physical symptoms too difficult to control in their home setting may receive inpatient care. Inpatient hospice admissions are typically short-term stays for aggressive symptom management to improve quality of life and make it possible for the patient to return to their home setting.
Patient guests will find Arkansas Hospice inpatient centers to be inviting, peaceful and accommodating. Our patients benefit from a full range of hospice services on-site to ensure their physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met.
Families will also receive support and guidance from an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, grief support and volunteers.
As a pioneer of hospice care, Arkansas Hospice opened the first hospice inpatient center in Arkansas in February 2000. Now, we have three inpatient centers to serve patients with advanced illnesses who have physical symptoms that cannot be managed in other settings.
For patients and families in our service area who may live too far from one of our own inpatient centers, arrangements have been made with local area healthcare facilities to provide an inpatient setting managed by the patient’s Arkansas Hospice care providers. Inpatient services include:
I have nothing but the best things to say about Arkansas Hospice. They were so good to my Dad before he passed away. The love and care, compassion they showed to my dad was priceless. The nurses and CNA’s that took care of my Dad are the best and always be the best.
We are just starting our dad’s final journey and Arkansas Hospice has been a blessing. They’ve taught us so much already and provide as much support and comfort to the family as they do my dad. I’m grateful they’ll be walking this final path with us.
I love Arkansas Hospice. Every single employee has a heart of gold and takes the best care of their patients.
I would not hesitate at all to recommend this provider for anyone who is considering hospice care for themselves or for a loved one.
Arkansas Hospice took care of my Mom before she passed. It was my first experience with any hospice and I was amazed. They took such great care of her. They treated her with dignity and respect until the end.
So many thanks for the way your staff treated my very dear friend, Jeff, as he raced toward the finish line. Words can’t express my gratitude for helping us to care for him and keep him comfortable. Top-notch professionalism and immediate responses to requests for assistance.
