Arkansas Hospice doctor earns Fellow status from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARK – Dr. Neal Wyatt, Arkansas Hospice Medical Director, Hospice Services, recently earned the designation Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM). The Fellow status is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member by the Academy, which is the professional organization for physicians specializing in hospice and palliative medicine, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

Having joined Arkansas Hospice in December 2006, Dr. Wyatt has served in many leadership roles at the organization, including vice president and chief medical officer, and he was instrumental in the 2015 launch of Arkansas Palliative Care. Wyatt served as Associate Medical Director from July 2020 to November 2024 when he was named Medical Director, Hospice Services.Wyatt graduated as a doctor of osteopathic medicine at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he completed his internship and residency in Tulsa.

In addition to his work with Arkansas Hospice and Arkansas Palliative Care, Dr. Wyatt serves on the faculty of the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine, and the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine located on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

Dr. Wyatt will receive the Fellow designation during the closing plenary session at the Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, February 8, 2025, joined by colleagues working in the field of hospice and palliative care.
